Terms of service

Effective September 11 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of NEPAKosherMeat.com and any order placed through the website. By visiting the site, creating an account, submitting an order, or using any related service, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated into them.

1 Seller of record and role of NEPA Kosher Meat

NEPA Kosher Meat is a marketing name used to promote kosher meat and related products offered by [LEGAL NAME OF YESHIVA CO-OP], referred to in these Terms as the “Yeshiva Co-op,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” The Yeshiva Co-op is the seller and business of record for purchases made through the site. Payments, including approved SNAP or EBT transactions, are accepted and processed by or for the Yeshiva Co-op. NEPA Kosher Meat does not represent a separate seller unless the site expressly states otherwise.

2 Eligibility and account information

You must provide current, complete, and accurate contact, billing, pickup, and delivery information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login information secure. We may refuse or cancel an order when information is incomplete, payment is not authorized, the order appears fraudulent, an item is unavailable, or fulfilling the order would violate law or program requirements.

3 Products and availability

Products are offered subject to availability, supplier and butcher capacity, kosher certification, minimum order quantities, and the monthly ordering schedule. Product photographs are illustrative. Natural differences in size, shape, color, marbling, trimming, packaging, and appearance are not defects. We may limit quantities, substitute only with your approval when a material difference exists, or refund an unavailable item.

4 Prices and variable-weight items

Many meat products are sold by the pound. A product page or checkout total may therefore show an estimated price based on an estimated weight. The final charge is based on the actual packaged weight multiplied by the disclosed price per pound, plus any separately disclosed charges. The final weight may be lower or higher than the estimate. Additional details appear in the Variable Weight and Final Price Policy.

5 Order acceptance and changes

An order confirmation acknowledges receipt of your request; it does not guarantee acceptance or availability. An order becomes binding when we accept it for fulfillment or otherwise begin purchasing, cutting, preparing, or allocating product for it. We may contact you before processing a material substitution or unusually large price difference. Once custom cutting or fulfillment begins, cancellation may not be possible.

6 Payment authorization

You authorize the Yeshiva Co-op and its service providers to charge the payment method you provide for the estimated order total and, when permitted by the payment method and disclosed at checkout, any final adjustment based on actual weight. If a separate additional payment is required, you agree to pay it promptly. SNAP benefits may be used only for eligible food and cannot pay delivery charges, tips, or other ineligible fees.

7 Pickup and delivery

Pickup and delivery dates are estimates and may change because of supplier delays, weather, refrigeration concerns, holidays, Shabbos or Yom Tov scheduling, road conditions, or circumstances outside our control. Customers must follow the Pickup and Delivery Policy, including timely collection and safe refrigerated storage.

8 Food safety

Perishable products must be refrigerated or frozen promptly. You are responsible for safe handling, thawing, preparation, cooking, avoidance of cross-contamination, and compliance with any package instructions after delivery or pickup. Do not consume a product that appears spoiled, damaged, improperly sealed, or unsafe; contact us immediately and preserve the packaging and product for review.

9 Kosher information

We identify kosher certifications and relevant product information using supplier, distributor, butcher, package, and certifying-agency information available to us. Certifications may vary by product, production run, or package. Customers with specific standards must review the actual package certification and consult their own rabbinic authority before purchase or consumption.

10 Returns refunds and credits

Because food is perishable and may be specially ordered or cut, sales are generally final after fulfillment begins. Refunds or credits may be available for unavailable items, verified order errors, material damage, spoilage attributable to us, or as required by law. The Returns Refunds and Cancellations Policy controls these requests.

11 Website content and intellectual property

The site and its text, layout, graphics, logos, photographs, and other content are owned by or licensed to the Yeshiva Co-op or the applicable rights holder. You may use the site only for personal shopping and information. You may not copy, scrape, sell, interfere with, reverse engineer, or misuse the site except as permitted by law.

12 Third-party services

The site may use Shopify and other providers for hosting, checkout, payment processing, analytics, communications, maps, or delivery support. Their services and separate terms may apply. We are not responsible for a third party’s independent acts, outages, or policies, but we remain responsible for our own legal obligations.

13 Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its informational content are provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, exact product appearance, or availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Yeshiva Co-op nor persons working on the NEPA Kosher Meat marketing effort will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site or an order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

14 Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses or claims caused by your unlawful misuse of the site, fraudulent payment activity, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights. This provision does not make you responsible for our own unlawful conduct or negligence where responsibility cannot legally be shifted.

15 Governing law and disputes

Pennsylvania law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, unless applicable law requires another location or procedure. Before filing a claim, either party may send written notice and allow 30 days for a good-faith attempt to resolve the matter. This section does not require arbitration and does not waive rights in small-claims court or rights that cannot legally be waived.

16 Changes severability and entire agreement

We may update these Terms by posting a revised effective date. Changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These Terms and the policies linked on the site form the agreement concerning site use and orders, except for any separate written agreement signed by the parties.

Kosher Certification and Product Information Policy

Effective September 11 2026

Certifications offered

Products may be available under certifications such as CHK, Weissmandl, Solomon’s, MK, or other supervision identified on the product listing or package. Availability varies by item and ordering cycle. Listing a certification does not mean that every product or every production run carries that certification.

Package controls

The certification symbol, label, seal, lot information, and product identity on the package delivered to the customer control over a website photograph or general description. Website photographs may show a different size, vintage label, package design, or production run. Customers should inspect the actual package before opening it.

Customer-specific standards

Kosher standards and personal practices differ. A customer requiring a particular certifying agency, shechita standard, species, cut, processing method, Passover status, washing or salting status, or other religious specification must confirm the requirement before ordering and verify the delivered package. Questions of halacha should be directed to the customer’s rabbinic authority; neither the site nor general customer-service statements replace individual rabbinic guidance.

Substitutions

We will not knowingly substitute a materially different kosher certification without disclosure and customer approval. When a selected certification is unavailable, the customer may approve another option or receive a refund for the affected item.

Product descriptions and allergens

Descriptions are based on information from suppliers, distributors, butchers, labels, and certifying bodies. Ingredients, processing facilities, allergens, nutrition information, country of origin, and preparation instructions may change. Always read the delivered package. Contact us before purchase if an ingredient, allergy, or production detail is important. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment unless expressly stated by the manufacturer or responsible facility.

Recalls and corrections

We may contact customers or post information about a recall, certification change, labeling correction, or safety concern. Customers should follow official instructions and preserve the package identification. We may cancel, replace, or refund an affected item as appropriate.

SNAP and EBT Policy

Effective September 11 2026

The Yeshiva Co-op accepts SNAP or EBT only while properly authorized and only through approved equipment and procedures. Acceptance may be limited to in-person payment, pickup, or another method supported by the Co-op’s authorization and payment system.

Eligible purchases

SNAP benefits may be used only for SNAP-eligible food. Meat intended for household consumption is generally eligible. SNAP benefits cannot pay delivery charges, tips, service fees, storage fees, non-food items, hot foods sold for immediate consumption where ineligible, or any other amount prohibited by program rules. The customer must pay ineligible amounts using another accepted payment method.

Equal treatment

SNAP customers receive the same products, prices, terms, and level of service as other customers, except for differences required by law or the payment system. Discounts or incentives offered only to SNAP customers will not be provided unless specifically authorized.

No cash exchange or prohibited activity

SNAP benefits cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, gift cards, tips, or ineligible products. We do not knowingly process trafficking, split transactions intended to evade rules, or payment by a person not authorized to use the EBT account. Identification or additional verification may be requested only as permitted by program rules and applied consistently.

Variable-weight orders

For items sold by weight, the SNAP amount must reflect the final eligible food price. Estimated authorizations, additional charges, and refunds will be handled only through methods allowed by the EBT processor and SNAP rules. If the system cannot support a lawful adjustment, we may require final weighing before payment or use another approved procedure.

Refunds and unavailable products

Refunds for items bought with SNAP benefits are returned to the customer’s SNAP account through the EBT system as required; they are not paid in cash. Substitutions must be eligible and handled under applicable SNAP and processor requirements. A customer may decline a substitution.

System availability and questions

EBT acceptance depends on authorization, equipment, network availability, funding, and program rules. If EBT processing is unavailable, we may hold, reschedule, reduce, or cancel the order. Questions about benefit eligibility or account balances should be directed to the appropriate benefit agency or EBT customer-service line; questions about a store transaction may be directed to us.

Variable Weight and Final Price Policy

Effective September 11 2026

Many meat items cannot be cut to an exact weight. The price displayed on a product page or at checkout is therefore an estimate unless the item is expressly identified as fixed-price.

How the final price is calculated

Final item price equals the actual packaged weight multiplied by the displayed price per pound. For example, if an item is estimated at 2.0 pounds at $15.00 per pound, the estimated price is $30.00. If the packaged item actually weighs 2.25 pounds, the final item price is $33.75. If it weighs 1.75 pounds, the final item price is $26.25.

Expected range

Unless a product page states another range, the actual weight may be approximately 0.5 pound below or 0.5 pound above the listed estimated weight. This range is an estimate rather than a guarantee. A customer requesting a larger or smaller piece should add a note, but the butcher may not be able to match the request exactly.

Adjustments

  • If the final price is lower than the amount paid or authorized, we will reduce the captured amount or issue a refund or account correction for the difference using a permitted method.

  • If the final price is higher, we may capture an authorized adjustment where supported and disclosed, send an invoice or payment request, or collect the balance before pickup or delivery.

  • For SNAP or EBT purchases, any correction must be processed using a method permitted by SNAP rules and the EBT system. SNAP refunds are returned to the SNAP account where required; SNAP benefits are not converted to cash.

  • If a final adjustment would be materially outside the stated range, we will attempt to obtain approval before fulfillment or offer a reasonable alternative.

Scale and package information

Final weight is determined from the product’s lawful package label or an approved commercial weighing process used by the seller, butcher, supplier, or distributor. The package label controls if website information and the final labeled weight differ. Contact us promptly if you believe a weight or price was entered incorrectly.

Ordering and Payment Policy

Effective September 11 2026

Monthly ordering cycle

NEPA Kosher Meat generally operates through scheduled, once-monthly ordering periods. The order deadline, estimated fulfillment date, pickup window, and available delivery options will be posted on the site or communicated for each cycle. An item shown online is not guaranteed until the order is accepted and supply is confirmed.

Submitting and accepting an order

After you submit an order, you should receive an acknowledgment. We may contact you about unavailable items, butcher specifications, quantity limits, substitutions, or material price changes. We may decline or cancel an order before fulfillment because of availability, payment, compliance, safety, or operational concerns. If we cancel a paid item, the corresponding amount will be refunded to the original permitted payment method.

Prices

Fixed-price items are charged at the displayed item price. Products priced per pound use an estimated checkout amount and a final amount based on actual packaged weight. Taxes and fees, if applicable, are shown separately. Obvious typographical or system errors may be corrected before fulfillment; if a correction materially increases your price, we will request approval or cancel and refund the affected item.

Payment methods and authorization

Accepted payment methods appear at checkout or are communicated by the Yeshiva Co-op. By providing a payment method, you represent that you are authorized to use it and authorize charges for the order, including disclosed variable-weight adjustments. A declined payment or unpaid balance may delay pickup or delivery. Cash or another approved method may be required for a balance that cannot be processed electronically.

Special orders and custom cuts

Special-order and custom-cut items may require advance payment and may become noncancelable once ordered, allocated, or prepared. Requested weights and cuts are targets, not guarantees; natural product variation and butcher judgment may affect the result. We will seek approval before making a materially different substitution.

Order records

Please review your receipt or final statement promptly. Report a suspected pricing, payment, or product error within 24 hours after pickup or delivery when reasonably possible. A short reporting period helps us investigate perishable items but does not eliminate rights provided by law.
